The Open Water Diver certification is the 1st complete PADI entry level certification you can earn and the most chosen course for beginners worldwide. This license is the most recognized in the dive industry and will allow you to dive anywhere in the world, independent of professional supervision, to a maximum depth of 18 metres/60 feet. The reef system around Placencia in Southern Belize is the perfect environment for you to learn the beginner’s scuba diving course with warm waters, no currents, great visibility and amazing coral reefs for you to dive off.
This scuba diving course is comprised of 5 academic modules, 5 confined water training sessions and 4 open water dives. This license is your passport to adventure and the key to open the door of the wonderful underwater world. This course can be conducted in 3 to 4 ½ days and requires no previous experience and is open to anyone from the age of 10 years old, with no adverse medical conditions, is ideal for the whole family to enroll and receive dedicated instruction from Patty Ramirez and her professional staff at Splash Dive Center.
Our equipment is professionally maintained, and in excellent condition, and your course will be closely supervised with personal tuition from our licensed Belizean PADI Instructors. Our Instructors are also very knowledgeable with the local aquatic life and coral reefs, and will educate you on the fish and creatures you will encounter on your course. Placencia has some of the nicest dive sites, and healthiest reef systems in Belize, and an abundance of aquatic life.
There’s an abundance of fish and you’ll be so impressed and intrigued by the aquatic life, you might want to consider taking your training further with the PADI Adventures in Diving course, or one of our specialty classes such as the Fish ID or Underwater Naturalist specialty courses.
