There are 2 options for completing your PADI Divemaster training with Splash Dive Center, Option A) Practical training over 12 days, or Option B) The Internship over 4 weeks (only available to Belizean citizens and residents due to local labor laws).
Option A is suitable for candidates who have time constraints, yet are PADI Rescue Divers with a minimum of 50 dives, and who have obtained all the Divemaster manuals and materials (ideally the Divemaster crew pack) and have studied all theory and completed all independent reading assignments prior to arriving in Placencia, Belize. It is preferable to do this via PADI e-learning which you can access from the home page on this website.
In the practical training option, you’ll role play 4 different training scenarios where you play the role of a Divemaster working with entry level students in confined water training, and also in Open Water, and you’ll supervise certified divers in Open Water and assist a continuing education class.
Option B is more suitable for candidates with more time as this is conducted over a minimum of 4 weeks, and involved assisting on actual student classes. You’ll assist on an Open Water class, an Advanced Open Water course, and lead certified divers in Open Water. Option B is only available to Belizean citizens and residents due to local labor laws.
You’ll find that taking your Divemaster course in Placencia, Southern Belize, is the best way to combine a scuba diving vacation, with vocational training towards a professional scuba diver rating. Regardless of the option chosen, the Divemaster course will also improve your ability to map a dive site, develop a local emergency assistance plan, and we’ll work on your demonstration quality dive skills in preparation for you to lead any of the programs that can be conducted by a PADI Divemaster.
To GoPro and enroll in the DM course you need to be minimum 18 years old, have current CPR/First aid training, though this can be arranged at Splash Dive Center prior to starting the course if yours has expired, minimum of 20 dives for Option B or 50 for Option A, though it is possible to make up to this number prior to the start of the course with a fun dive package and be in good medical health.

Your training will be conducted with involvement and supervision from Patty Ramirez, who was one of Southern Belize’s first PADI Course Directors, and holds the highest rating a PADI dive professional can earn and is qualified to train PADI Instructors. If you desire the next step after your Divemaster training would be to enroll on the PADI Instructor Development Course.
