Turneffe Atoll

Turneffe atoll is the largest of the three and is situated 20 miles east of Belize City. The atoll measures 30 miles long and 10 miles wide was declared a national marine reserve by the government of Belize in 2012. The most visited sites in the Turneffe atoll is the Elbow.

Glover’s Reef Atoll

Glover’s Reef Atoll is the southernmost of the three atolls off the coast of Belize. Perfect for divers seeking the excitement of experiencing diving with a profusion of marine life. The southern part of Glovers is approximately 30 nautical miles from Placencia, a journey which takes a little more than an hour and a half. Lighthouse Reef

The Lighthouse reef is the farthest offshore and thus is the most remote of the three atolls. The atoll measures 28 miles from north to south and varies in length from 2–6 miles. According to “Dive The World” this area is considered by many experienced divers to be the best in the Caribbean. The visibility is approximately 20-40 m and is great to view large and small animals, reef life and health, underwater photography, and wall dives. Popular dive sites include: Half moon wall, located South Half Moon Caye, Lighthouse Atolland Long Caye, with multiple dive sites on the north, west and east sides of Long Caye, Lighthouse Atoll.
