SPLASH PARTNERS WITH THE BELIZE SISTER REEF PROJECT

It is not often that a new sustainable tourism campaign surges, but when it does, Splash Dive Center is sure to be part of it.

The Sister Reef Project is a fundraiser powered by the people of Belize with proceeds supporting the World Wildlife Fund. Because Belize wants to remain the second greatest barrier reef in the world, we’ll share all proceeds with our sister reef, The Great Barrier Reef. Funds will be used to help restore and protect each barrier reef against future damage. When the reefs are better we are all better!

What better way to protect the reef and […]

The Garinagu arrived in Belize in 1802 and settled in Southern Belize. Pompion Wall A Diving Adventure | Placencia Scuba Diving

Pompion Wall Dive Site is a secluded diving area that gets its name from a privately own island named Pompion Caye, located just 50 minutes from Placencia, Belize. I often hear that the best dive sites are those “unknowns” and after diving at the Pompion Wall I have to agree.

This dive leaves Splash Dive Center in Placencia at 9:00 am and is a two tank multilevel dive. Although Pompion Wall is not within the protected Barrier Reef Reserve System it is one of the most pristine reefs in the area and one of the best Placencia scuba diving sites.

Full speed […]

The Perfect Caribbean escape | Belize Snorkeling At Laughing Bird Caye National Park

The boat ride out to Laughing Bird Caye was not only short-lived but also it was fun as we sped past a number of the inner cayes. We departed from Placencia village and took a boat ride out to the island for our Belize snorkeling trip. I knew I was not only visiting an island but a protected one. I have visited other cayes in Belize such as the popular San Pedro, Ambergris Caye and the laid-back Caye Caulker but I had never visited an island that is also a National Park and a World Heritage Site, protected for its […]
