This year Placencia gears up for its annual Lobster Fest. The party commences June 19 and ends on June 21, three days long event packed with specials. Do you enjoy grilled lobsters? The sight of blazing hot charcoal grills lined up with nothing but lobster is scrumptious. With live entertainment from Belize’s finest and mega prizes, it’s a beach party not to be forgotten. If seafood is just not your thing you can still enjoy the festival, as a wide variety of local Belizean dishes will be on sale.
Did you know that the history of lobster as a delicacy in Belize commenced with the over abundance of lobsters in the sea? Today, what was once considered a pest for many has become one of the most celebrated seafood in Belize.

This event would not be possible if not for the main organizer of the event The Placencia Chapter of the Belize Tourism Industry Association (BTIA). The organizers with the help of sponsors started the first ever festival back in 98’ to help boost the economy and growth of the village. It has certainly been a success for the village and continues to attract many visitors around the world to the peninsula. Placencia Lobster Festival 2015 is must!
